  • Works great, UI needs work

By SD Drone Newbie (Pcmac )

It’s a 1 trick pony, (flying a grid within a box to snap pictures suitable for mapping) but it does its job very well. It flies my Phantom 3 perfectly - I have to it it was a bit nerve-wracking to push the start button and watch it fly away on it’s own the first time, but it worked great. Being able to create missions indoors, with the phantom offline is fantastic. Especially in the winter when you don’t want to take your gloves off more than necessary. Areas for improvement: -Reusing missions is possible,(Ideal for tracking changes in an area over time) but you can’t modify a mission (ex change the altitude if you decide you were too high) - that requires a new mission. - You can’t make a box that has an indented side. You can add as many points to a side as you want as long as they bulge out between the 2 ends. - Nowhere in the app (that I could find) does it tell you about their mapsmadeeasy cloud service that stitches your photos together - It doesn’t always start the mission close to your launch point. It’s easy to adjust, but I’ve set up missions where both the default beginning and end point were on the other end of the grid from the launch.
  • Great capability, but UI is needs some focus

    By Nathan Carlson (Pcmac )

Pros: Ok - so unlike several other apps out there you get all kinds of customized options for your flight planning. The orthomosiac and topo maps and other 3D model outputs that this does for free is amazing. It's an amazing tool for free! It will work for most s for areas <5 acres. Cons: The UI is terrible. Very hard to know the order of operations to setup and plan your job. It's even harder to understand how to load your job to your drone. Once it's doing its' thing it's not all that difficult (since its in autopilot). The other challenging thing is you have to to take the reference picture on the ground. If you don't your 3D model will float in the air at the height you fly your mission at.
  • A few bugs, but good

    By PLR Pilot (Pcmac )

The app won't establish the initial connect to DJI on the mission planner screen, so you'll need to connect to the aircraft with the mission manager screen. Took me a week to figure that out. has been non-existent to me, so minus a star. The app works great, once you figure out how to connect the plane, though. This app will be five stars once is better, and once they make some key changes that allow more consistent and stable connections to the aircraft. The changes include the ability to set the angle and direction of the gimbal during a mission, the ability to rerun a mission without closing the app, the ability to modify an existing pre-planned mission, and some others.
  • Works great with the Phantom 4

    By Abraham__Lincoln (Pcmac )

Thank you for adding for the Phantom 4! The software interface is simple to use, but also provides constant of telemetry, FPV, and connectivity status. After DJI discontinued of their ground station, I found this app to be the best replacement. In many ways this app is superior for aerial image acquisition because it figures flight strips based on the camera specs and preferred image overlap. In DJI's offering this had to be calculated prior to using the application. I also like that this app does not force the UAV to stop for every photograph unlike some other software offerings. Overall this is a sweet application, best $10 spent!
