Capture App Needs More Features

We’ve had our Sling Studio for a week now and it’s mostly great. However for the price this Capture app really needs to be improved. It would be perfect if it had the functionality found in the FiLMiC Pro app. But at the very least it needs to offer better control of exposure and focus similar to how FiLMiC Pro provides reticles to choose independently choose focus and exposure areas and then lock in each setting by just tapping the respective reticle. The Capture app allowed some exposure setting that looks like it might be allowing us to lock the exposure but shortly after that it switched itself back to auto exposure. These limitations make it very difficult to set matching images on multiple cameras. In fact often the forced auto exposure was significantly overexposed. It would also be great if the app allowed us to choose some basic options like frame rate. So this app is marginally adequate. They need make it much better. Unfortunately, as it is right now, it just doesn’t allow us to make the best use of the camera’s built in functionality. Hopefully future updates of this app will fix these significant shortcomings.

The capture app comes in handy for turning your iPhone into a wireless camera source for the app. Like other reviewers have stated, this app needs more features added to be able to control exposure, focus and zoom on-the-fly. Also, you need to add for 4K to be recorded in the Capture app to the smart phone. I understand the main recording on the the app hub is set to a max of 1080p, but individual iPhones that have 4K capability should be able to record in 4K within the app, to be used for replacing the clips in post. Another feature request is to add for a DJI Osmo Mobile to be used as a remote pan/tilt head for the iPhone using Capture. SwitcherStudio has all three of the features I mentioned. If the app adds these things, it will sell like hotcakes!

This turns your phone into a camera and sends the signal over wifi to the the app. The the app is a portable studio solution to switch several cameras or phones and stream them to the web . You can record or stream! This can give you professional options at consumer pricing. Need graphics, no problems. *Must purchase the app separately to use this app.

I am the video editor and One of the many cameramen at our church and not having to edit all the video and being able to put it straight on Facebook is an outstanding feature don’t know how I did without it before.
