current version works on iPhone, crashes on iPad

This is my favorite the app app - no flashy stuff to distract me from the puzzle, easy to use, and just worked - until this update. It's fine on my iPhone, but on the iPad it's useless. I can get into a puzzle, but tapping a number doesn't input it into the square, and then the app hangs and crashes. Both devices are running iOS 5.1.1. Since I play on my iPad 99% of the time, I had to revert to the previous version (I use an Automator workflow to backup the previous versions of all my mobile apps, just in case something like this happens).

After an update, in-app purchases could not be restored. I ed Astraware 7 times over a month through their online ticket form. Never got a single response. Terrible, nonexistent , and in this case a complete ripoff. $3 down the drain to these criminals. Several months later and an update. Same problem. Same crooked lack of response from Astraware. Don't give them your money. The game is good, but you will have to pay for it over and over. Avoid these crooks, who never respond to their tickets.
Great Sudoku version

Love having separate buttons for pencil notes. Hint tells you where to look but gives you the chance to figure it out yourself. Would like to have more obvious shading difference in buttons for numbers that have all been used. Otherwise this is just about perfect.
Lost my unlocked priveleges

I enjoyed OTD for a couple months after upgrading from the old AW the app; some things were better (could always get the day's puzzles if I had a connection), some worse (pencilmarks contrast). However, today it started showing ads. Restore purchases requests iTunes wd but then just sits there. Banner ads really wreck the game for me. Ponied up another 3 bucks to get back to scratch, but very frustrated about the backsliding to annoying ads.
